§ 01 — About the role

What you would do.

You would lead a two-person residential cleaning crew across recurring, deep-clean, and move-out work. The role is part cleaner, part coach, part quality owner.

This is not a clipboard-only lead job. You clean alongside the crew, make judgment calls on-site, and help newer team members build speed without losing quality.

The right fit likes clear standards, calm customer communication, and leaving the next crew with cleaner notes than they received.

§ 02 — Responsibilities

The day-to-day.

  • Lead the route by reviewing job notes, assigning rooms, balancing pace, and keeping the day on schedule.
  • Own checklist quality including final walkthroughs, photos, punch-list notes, and customer-ready closeout.
  • Train new hires on cleaning order, supply use, customer communication, and route rhythm.
  • Handle on-site escalations when scope, access, damage, pets, or customer expectations need judgment.
  • Coordinate with dispatch when jobs run long, supplies run low, or schedule changes need a clear handoff.
  • Model the standard by cleaning alongside the crew and making quality visible in the moment.
§ 03 — What you bring

Requirements.

Required:

  • 2+ years of residential, commercial, hospitality, or healthcare cleaning experience
  • Prior lead, trainer, supervisor, shift lead, or informal team ownership experience
  • Valid driver license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a national background check after the offer stage
  • Physical ability to lift 40 lbs, stand for 6+ hours, and climb stairs or step stools
  • Smartphone capable of using the crew app

Nice to have, not required:

  • Move-out, deep-clean, or post-construction cleaning experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Experience writing quality notes or customer-facing service summaries
  • Interest in future operations or training leadership

§ 05 — Frequently asked

Common questions.

Q. Do team leads still clean?

Yes. Team leads clean alongside the crew while owning quality, pace, and handoffs.

Q. How much management is involved?

This is field leadership, not office management. You train, decide, communicate, and close the route well.

Q. Can this grow into operations?

Yes. Crew leads are the first bench for trainer, quality, and operations roles.

Q. What is the hiring process?

Application, phone screen, paid working interview on a route, then offer or honest no.
