What you'd do
You would drive our box truck and run removal jobs with a crewmate: single-item pickups, garage and estate cleanouts, appliance hauls, and the occasional full-property clear. You are the face at the door as much as the muscle on the couch.
Every load gets sorted — donation first, recycling second, disposal last — and documented, because customers ask where their stuff went and we like having the answer.
This is heavy, physical work. Furniture, appliances, and awkward loads daily, lifted with a partner and the right equipment. Expect stairs, tight corners, and full days on your feet.
The day-to-day
- Drive the route in a company box truck between jobs, donation centers, recyclers, and transfer stations. CDL not required.
- Lead removals with your crewmate: assess the load at the door, confirm scope with the customer, then carry it out clean.
- Sort every load for donation, recycling, and disposal — and keep the paper trail for each drop.
- Protect the home with door pads, floor runners, and careful routes through tight spaces.
- Document the work in the crew app: before/after photos, disposal records, and notes.
- Keep the truck ready fueled, swept out, strapped down, and stocked between jobs.
- Flag anything off-scope like hazardous materials or items we cannot take, so dispatch can route it right.
Requirements
Required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — CDL not required
- Ability to pass a national background check
- Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs with a partner, repeatedly, up and down stairs
- Comfort talking with customers at the door and confirming scope
- Working English or Spanish; bilingual crews welcome
- Smartphone capable of using the crew app

- Box truck, moving, or delivery experience
- Furniture handling or appliance-dolly experience

- Familiarity with Portland-metro donation and recycling drop-offs
The full package
- Pay: $24-30/hr to start, reviewed at 90 days, 1 year, then annually. Top of range is reachable, not theoretical.

Do I need a CDL?
No. Our box trucks are under the CDL threshold. You need a valid driver license and a clean record.
How heavy is the lifting, honestly?
Real. Couches, washers, sectionals — daily. You lift with a partner and proper equipment, and we train safe technique in onboarding, but this is a physical job.
Where does the stuff go?
Donation first when items qualify, then recycling, then disposal. You keep the records so customers can see where their load went.
Do I work alone?
No — removal runs as a two-person crew. One drives, both lift, both talk to customers.
Is there room to grow?
Yes. Crew leads and multi-truck coordination come from the driver bench as markets grow.
