Why Professionals Soft Wash Instead
Soft washing uses a detergent to do the work chemically, then rinses at garden hose pressure or slightly above. On organic growth, which is what most dirty siding actually is, the chemistry outperforms the pressure by a wide margin.
Green and black film on a shaded north wall is algae, mildew and lichen. Blasting it removes the visible layer and leaves the roots, so it grows back in a season. A cleaning solution with dwell time kills it, and the wall stays clean much longer.
